Call to Her for Rites involving:

Passion and all that entails – lust, infatuation, rage,
aggression, obsession, power, drive and motivation, domination, feminine power,
etc.

She is ruled by fire – the fearsome aspect of the planetary
energy of Venus, volcanic and volatile. In a sense, she is the domineering
match to the masculine Mars, the traitorous seductress. Despite our own moral
connotations with such – she is not marred by our own virtue, for she exists
unabashed and guiltless. She cannot be controlled, she cannot be mastered, and
she cannot be owned. Her rage is explosive, her hunger insatiable, she is decadence
and gluttony, she is wrath and vanity – and she will not be judged for it. What
she wants, she takes; what she desires, she deserves. Conversely, she is the master of passion – with the power to
incite and dispel it. She is the dichotomy – the renunciate, the hedonist – and
everything in between. Under the guise of the Red Sister, she is the picture of
virtue – she who abhors the material and casts away all worldly possessions,
she is the ascetic and the chaste. “You may know my nature – but do not presume
to know my intention.”

Offerings, including but not limited to:

All things beautiful, lush and expensive – fine wines,
champagne, perfumes, sweet cigars/cigarettes, beauty supplies, jewelry, roses,
red candles bathed in oils, sugars and syrups, decadent foods (such as
chocolate or anything deemed an aphrodisiac); but on the darker side: knives, sulphur,
blood, red chiles, illicit substances (though not recommended – for your own
good)

(For the Red Sister: white or red roses, anointing oils,
flavorful “peasant” foods)

Ideal locations for workings: 

Taverns/bars, brothels, street-corners,
places of luxury or excess – she is also particularly suited to bath rituals
and mirrors.

To Call Her

Gather a collection of offerings, a square of red cloth or a
mirror on which you have drawn her Seal (above). Drawing it in red lipstick may
garner you some bonus points. Upon this, the offerings will be presented.
Prepare yourself by dabbing on some perfume or inspecting your own image in a
mirror. Music is always a welcome addition to workings with her, as dancing is
a great way to align yourself to her energy. When you are ready, light 3 or 7
red candles and begin your working. Hymns may be sung and prayers may be said,
though I offer none. As with the Black Mother, I recommend speaking freely –
give yourself over to the power and allow the words to flow ecstatically.
Passion is rarely planned, but captured in a moment. Allow it to run through
you.

Once the connection has been made, you might make a plea to
her. What that will be is entirely dependent on what you need, but do so
honestly. She can easily see through lies and she will draw from you truth –
often truths you do not want to face yourself. But without facing them, you
cannot be free, and you cannot grow. Allow your guilt and shame to be expunged
by her fire and let it ignite within you its passion. Be warned, though,
obsession follows her – be sure to set up clear lines when working with her. I
don’t lay a circle often, but for this it is recommended.

When you are through, leave the offerings for her. Thank her
graciously and give her a respectful bow. You may now leave the circle.

It is recommended that upon the completion of your request
that you leave another offering to her as a gift of thanks.

For those familiar with Quimbanda, many manifestations of Pomba Gira are a perfect example of the Red Queen – and much of this working mimics her observance, though less specialized based on aspect.

Seal of the Red Queen – 

She of zealous passion – infatuous and impetuous – she is the Warrioress, the Lover, lustful and raging. She is the guiltless, the unapologetic, the one who rides in brazen nudity and cuts down all who stand in her way. She is the Whore and the Soldier – mad with passion and blossoming in ecstasy as she slips the knife between the ribs. Both feral and refined, she is adorned in silk and lace with blood at her teeth and a smile on her twisted lips. She of double-edged laugh, the loving and the hateful – the Red Queen comes.

The Removal of the Heart

When I created this process, I had been through a very rough
period in my life. A dear friend and ex-lover of mine went missing and, if that
were not enough, I – as a witch – had a very hard time dealing with the fact I
was not able to find him. At was at this time, I made the choice to drink
Morning Glory tea and seek him out – what I found was all the more
heartbreaking. I knew he had gone from this life – and lo and behold, months
later the news arrived. It was at this time – because, even though I knew he
had perished, there was a touch of hope that perhaps I had misinterpreted the
signs, misunderstood the message – that I decided to remove my heart.

So, I sat down and worked out the specifics, knowing well
what I was doing. When the time came to do the ritual, I prepared. I had
crossed every “t”, dotted every “I” – but as I began, I knew this was not what
it seemed. I had written it to free myself of the heartache by means of
metaphorically removing my heart. What I found was all the more placating. As
the ritual proceeded, I knew I would not be removing my heart – but memorializing
it. I penned out a lengthy letter, in which I tied up all loose ends – not just
with the aforementioned, but all loose ends of my life. I wrote them all out
and folded the paper inside the heart, let the wax seal it in and I had done what
needed doing, and made an oath then and there:

All these things, I
will carry with me always, but no longer might they hold me back. They have
been sealed in the past, so that I may move forward – but forever, all of them
will remain, tucked away in my chest.

I sealed up that heart, wrapped it in cloth and then stowed
it away in a miniature, wooden chest (Word
of wisdom, though, make sure you remember where you stash it, because I spent
20 minutes searching all over for the damned thing so I could take a photo or
two!).


So, if you are ready to allow the past be the past, and seal
up the memories – I have brought to you the ritual.


Things You’ll Need:

For the Heart

  • Air-Dry or Oven Bake Clay – however, if you have a kiln, by
    all means… – also, as a last ditch, you can use clay-rich soil/dirt, I talk
    about the process here
  • Wax – you can use candlewax or paraffin, which can be found
    at most supermarkets (you’ll have to ask someone, because no place puts it in
    the same damn section [I’m not still bitter])
  • (Optional) Paint – I used red and pink wax, so I forewent
    the painting process

For the Rest

  • A Box/Chest/Bag or other Storage Option
  • Time (& other supplies of your choosing) – as I said, I
    sat down and wrote everything out, but that isn’t the only way. If you want to
    burn some things, scream, do a little crying, do what you need to do, just make
    sure you have something to stuff into the heart!

  1. The process is relatively simple, but somewhat time
    consuming. Begin by sculpting your heart – as you can see, I went the more
    anatomical route, but the symbolic heart is perfectly fine – it’s your heart,
    sculpt it however you damn well please. However, you’re going to want to hollow
    it at least partially out. That’s where you’ll be shoving all the memories and
    tokens and whatnot. After complete, allow it to cure – through air drying or
    oven baking. This can be a timely process, don’t rush it.
  2. Once completely dry, in a double boiler, melt your wax. It’s
    not recommended to melt paraffin in the microwave, as it’s a minor fire hazard.
    If you don’t happen to have a double boiler, a bowl that snuggly hugs the sides
    of a pot will work just fine – though not plastic, that would be another
    hazard. Once the wax is thoroughly melted, remove it from the boiler and allow
    it to cool momentarily. On a nonstick surface, such as wax paper or aluminum
    foil, place your heart hollow side up. Pour the wax into the hollow and turn it
    so that it evenly coats the inside. This may also take some time. After a few
    moments, the wax cools enough to touch – so you can work it with your hands.
  3. Once the inside has cooled enough to remain solid, cover the
    rest, following the same procedure, allowing it to cool and then working it
    with your hands. This seals any cracks and also gives the added bonus of a
    nice, smooth, shiny coat once hardened.
  4. Once the heart is complete, the rest is very much up to you –
    however you wish to go about it. I went through a lengthy process of setting up
    an entire table for the working – covered in photos, keepsakes and the like
    (which I then boxed separately for safe keeping, out of sight and out of mind).
    After having written the very long letter, I folded it up and placed it inside,
    then melted a bit of wax over it to secure both it and a candle – which I lit
    and let burn down so that it would seal it the rest of the way.

As seen above, I keep
mine in a small cedar box, wrapped in a handkerchief on a bed of Sulphur – but your
choice of storage is entirely up to you.


As a word of warning, since the “removal” I become a witchy-nun – vows and everything, so that could be a possible side effect, I’m not entirely sure.

Simple Love Drawing #2

As far as supplies go – you can’t get much simpler than this. It only requires one item, and one that can easily be found in most houses or picked up for a dollar-or-so at any convenience store (even a gas station, for that matter). The ritual itself works in much the same way as those that utilize magnets or lodestones, of which I’m sure most are familiar.

Items Needed

  • (1) Deck of standard playing cards

Instructions

1. Open the deck, if you haven’t already and search through for a card that represents you in both likeness and temperament. For assistance, you may wish to consult my tutorial on Divination With Playing Cards, which sum up each card’s spiritual characteristics (in my view, however, your own interpretation is both welcome and encouraged). When you have decided on the card, remove it from the deck and lay it aside for later.

2. Hunt through the deck again, now choosing a card for your suitor. This can be used to specify a specific person or used to represent someone with specific characteristics to draw to you (again, you may find my tutorial useful) and once found, set the card aside. You can also utilize more than one card, but that makes things more difficult. I recommend choosing just one and imbuing it with further characteristics. If you are dead-set on using more than one, use the main card as a face and back it with the other cards, but make sure that when you relocate the face card you bring the backing cards along with it. The specifics of which will be covered later.

3. On the back of the two cards, draw the following sigil:

4. After drawing the sigil, name each of the two cards and what/who they represent – this can be done magically or the names can be written on the card. Do not skip this step, it is important. This is what binds the two together – both the card with the person and one person to the other.

5. Arrange the rest of the cards from lowest 2s, 3s, 4s … J’s, Q’s, K’s, A’s into two piles. Two of each in either pile, in such a way the Aces make up the center most point of the deck. One half will descend and the other ascend in value. Ensure that all cards face in the same direction of your card. This is a symbol of your influence on the situation. The only card that will be face up will be that (or those) of your suitor. Begin with the cards on the outermost limits of the pile and place them all back in the box.

The cards (sans the two cards representing the each of the lovers) should thus be arranged:

6. Each day, at roughly the same time bring your cards one set closer – ie. Moving them from in front of the twos, to in front of the threes, etc. over 13 days. On the 13th day, they should be facing one another. Seal the two together with wax, glue, etc. if you wish, and leave the entire deck at a crossroads, street corner, or bury it near your bedroom window.

The Conquered Heart Oil


Touched on briefly here, I thought an actual recipe was in
order – as, while the basics were accounted for, the numerous optional
additives could not be covered in a brief foot note. As such, I bring to you
the full recipe – including a number of particular specialization ingredients.


This oil has an innate duality. Foremost it is a love oil –
but one that might not be the most healthy, depending on its application. It is
used to conquer the heart of another, which is an idea in itself that has a
number of connotations, each of which the oil is (or may be) uniquely suited
for. The oil has the potential to control the heart of another in whichever way
the witch sees fit – making them fall for a specific purpose, such as a
traditional love oil, or to reign over the heart of another with an iron fist
in a similar manner to Bend Over Oil. These two acts as the poles of a spectrum
– for it covers both, and all in-between.

The Basic Ingredients:

  • Castor : Carrier Blend – 1 : 4 ratio
  • 1 – 3 Red Roses*
  • 1 – 3 Iron Nails*
  • Sulfur
  • (3) Red Chiles, dried

LOVE: Specialized Options 

  • Cinnamon
  • Ginger
  • Anise
  • Orris Root
  • Poppy Seeds

CONTROL: Specialized Options

  • Calamus Root
  • Licorice
  • Devil’s Shoe Strings
  • Black Locust Thorns

To create, simply fill an empty bottle – dark, red or amber
glass being preferable, but not necessary – with the chosen additions (with
the exception of the “*” ingredients) from above.

Depending on the size of your bath, remove the petals from
the rose(s), one by one and impaling them on the iron nail(s). Continue until
the nail is full or you run out of petals. Toss any excess petals into the
bottle with the dry ingredients and place therein the constructed curio. Warm
the oil mixture (only warm – you do not want to deep fry the herbs, just coax
out their natural properties) and pour over the contents of the bottle. Shake
frequently for 7 days, at which point it is ready for use.

Simple Love Drawing

This is a very simple love drawing ritual that requires few “ingredients” – that should be rather accessible to most anyone. As the title suggests, this is a love drawing and can be used to attract a variety of loves (romantic, sexual, platonic, etc) by focusing on a specific person or just a general drawing.

Things You Will Need:

  • (1) Avocado Pit – washed 
  • A powder of: Ceylon Cinnamon and Brown/Raw Sugar – white can be substituted, but the less refined the better – and (optionally) a touch of powdered Ginger
  • (1) Red Candle
  • White Fabric – just a 8in x 8in square should do
  • Attraction Oil*
  • (Optional) Rose Oil – rose petals steeped in warmed castor oil
  • (Optional) Red Thread, Twine or String

* This is linked to my own attraction oil recipe, but any love drawing/attraction hoodoo oil may be substituted, depending on your preference


Instructions:

  1. Gather your supplies and mix your powder in a small bowl (it’ll come in use later). On you work surface, lay out your square of fabric flat and mark in the center the following symbol (*see below*)
  2. With your oil handy, dress the Red Candle and the Avocado Pit in the Attraction Oil (if you have opted to use the Rose Oil as well, then add this, too – however, I include this only as an option because the castor oil is a heavier oil more fitting for the following step – if you are only making the attraction oil for this ritual, simply add more castor oil and cut the carrier oil back).
  3. After the pit has been aptly dressed, drop it into the bowl of powder and give it a good roll, doing your best to affix as much powder to the outside as possible. Carefully place the coated pit atop of the symbol on your fabric. Then gently dress the candle in the remaining powder.
  4. At this point, you can elect to: 1) Bind the corners of the cloth to make a bag and cinch it with the red string, bag the candle with the excess powder and take them all to a nearby altar/shrine/divine effigy – at which point, expose the pit and light the candle, reciting what or whom you wish to attract in whatever way you prefer to, then leave the candle to burn out – or, 2) You can simply light the candle, recite your desire and let it burn down – when finished, simply collect any remaining candle and place it with the pit, collect the corners, cinch with twine and bury near your front door, window or dispose of it in running water.

If you wish to influence a specific person, having something belonging to them would be of great value – simply place any personal affect between the pit and the cloth and proceed as instructed.
