I’ve actually got a little something for your heartache predicament. It’s very simple, but does the trick.

All you need is a red onion, and a collection of either iron nails (which are preferable, but hard to get your hands on nowadays) or sewing pins.

From here you can proceed in two ways, whichever is more preferable to you.

1) Drive all the nails/pins into the onion, as a representation of your own pain. Then, one by one, remove the nails/pins, all the while freeing yourself of the ache. When all are removed, you may tip them one by one into salt water and wipe them clean — these can be saved to use in curses relating to the heart/love. Wrap the onion and dispose of it on either the next Tuesday, Friday, full moon or new moon — depending on which is preferable to you.

2) Very similar, though the imagery is different. Instead of removing the nails/pens, you will be driving them into the unpeeled onion. This is an act of transference. You’re removing your pain by inflicting it. This is my preference, but it depends a lot on your own personality. Drive the nails one-by-one into the onion until you’ve relieved your pain or have run out of nails. Dress the onion in black or white and bury near your front door or your bedroom window.

I have more options. Though I have found these to be the most pointed, simple and effective.
