So two Venezuelans and a witch walk into a bar. It’s New Wave/post-punk night: 1 Venezuelan is dressed in a black v-neck, 1 Venezuelan is wearing a parka because it was 65 degrees, and the witch is wearing an obscene amount of smudged eyeliner and dressed like a goth abuela. The night progresses, all is well, 1 Venezuelan is thoroughly drunk and swaying in a swarm of equally macabrely dressed people under blacklight, the other Venezuelan and the witch are talking about ethnobotany and Totó la Momposina at a picnic table directly in the center of a cloud of cigarette smoke, when the witch goes to retrieve cigarettes from the car. The witch can’t seem to locate it, despite only having had one beer. The witch reads the sign that says Express Towing and says loudly and defeatedly, “Aw fuck…” The witch returns to the bar, embracing the drunk Venezuelan who is trying to lure them into the swarm, breaking away the witch approaches the other Venezuelan, and explains the situation. The witch makes a phone call and the witch and 1 sober Venezuelan exit the bar. A Drifter on the street corner, commenting on the witch’s jewelry and offhandedly saying, “Thru look…. witchcrafty…..” The witch attempts to explain the pervasiveness of witchcraft and its many manifestations. Two lesbians arrive in a red SUV, 1 is drunk. The witch and the Venezuelan crawl in and implore them many thanks, giving directions to the sober driver. After winding through 3 separate trailer parks in search of Express Towing, they arrive and the witch exits the car to make a phone call. Shortly, the white nationalist Tow Man appears and names his price – “and it really should be in cash.” When asked if he would accept 60 in cash and 20 on a card, the Tow Man simply reiterated “and it really should be in cash.” The lesbians pool their money to bail them out, earning the witch’s eternal gratitude. Tow Man opens the rusted gate with an obscenely large chain on it, and says… “you might have to shake the wheel a little.” The witch and the Venezuelan get in the car, and rejoice in the sound of Totó la Momposina. Oh, and that other Venezuelan got home somehow. The Drifter, however, remains at large. Tow Man made a small fortune tonight. And the eyeliner still hasn’t come off.
A witch is, actually, a successful (in the sense of surviving) deviant. You have a cultural, ideological, social, what-not pattern which is, for that society in question, normal (and, importantly, this is understood as a synonym for natural). Most people survive because they conform to these patterns, because they behave normally. […] But then suddenly you get a deviant which survives, and since it does not draw its support from the normal pattern, […] that deviant is understood as drawing its support from “unknown,” “supernatural” sources. […] If we cannot survive without our order, how can she [the witch] survive in solitude? Hers must be indeed a very powerful order to exist so independently, without all the inter cooperation and individual compromise which we have to go through to survive. And if it is so powerful, then it could destroy us. We must try to destroy it first.

The other day, @wandsbrewsandbroomsticks posed a question on her blog. She asked, “Why isn’t there like a dating app or social app (besides Tumblr) for witches?” And that gave me a brilliant idea!
What if there was a way to pull up a map and see where other witches were in correlation to where I was? I have seen it done before, so I decided to go out and search!
Browse the map and see where witches are! Check out links to their blogs and see others who share your similar interests!
But how do I enter in my own information? That’s easy.
At the top, there is a section called Additions. Click there and then hit Add Marker. From there, fill out the following sections this way:
Under the Location Tab **ENTRY NAME: @yourtumblrname **LOCATION: your city **MARKER: pick a color
Under the Details Tab **DESCRIPTION: a brief description of what kind of witchcraft you practice and other details. **EMAIL AND PHONE: do not fill this section out. We don’t want you giving out personal information that can endanger you! **WEBSITE: your Tumblr url.
Under the Media Tab **UPLOAD: share a small picture of yourself or something that represents your blog!
Finish up by clicking Submit! After that, share with your followers by reblogging this post!
There are rules to this though, witches! 1. Do not abuse the map. If you spam an area or harass someone, you will be removed from the map and IP banned from accessing it. 2. Do not be creepy. Some people may choose not to reply to any messages you send. Don’t continue to bother them. 3. Do not post lewd photos or NSFW content on the map. We have witches of all ages accessing this map and want it to be an open and safe community. 4. Do not edit or manipulate other markers. Like I mentioned before, I can track your IP and you don’t want a mama witch gettin’ mad at ya. 5. If you are under 18, please ask your guardians’ permission to put your information on the map.
SHARE THIS WITH YOUR FOLLOWERS! ADD YOURSELF AND MEET OTHER WITCHES IN YOUR AREA! HAVE FUN AND BE SAFE!
**If you need help with the map, just let me know.
ENJOY!
My favorite thing about this is the two witches who filled it out in the Golden Coral. I see y’all. 😂
