Dinah: Of Rose and Honey

Patroness of: Acceptance,
Social and Youthful Curiosity, Young Love, Loss (in many aspects of the word –
lost youth, lost love, lost faith), Powerlessness – not at the hands of
Shechem, but her family, Infatuation, Tenderness, Understanding and a Girl’s
Reclamation of Self. She is one who has been desecrated, whose trust has been
dismantled – by none other than her family – she, conversely, commands a great
power of retribution and will stop at nothing to ensure that no other be forced
to endure what she had to.

Call upon her for
works of
: Reclamation from Patriarchal Tyranny – when the words of men
asphyxiate every fiber of your being. Too, for Justice – Her name is Judgement –
and no matter her forced meekness in life, her death brought forth the very essence
of Power that kept her living through the Hell that cropped up around her. She is
Innocence, She is Youthful Naivety but never
mistake that for weakness – for it is her greatest strength, and one that
renders swift, unrelenting justice.

Symbols: The Jug
& the Veil

For the Story of Dinah,
see: Dinah (Don’t bother with
the Biblical version… It’s slightly
biased)

Prayer”:

Cometh Dinah – bright and
new,

Wrapped in linen veils
of youth,

And a crown of gems:

Emeralds, rubies,

Lapis – blue;

Stones of love – a love

That is born in strife,

O Dinah, child,

Alight with raging
fire,

For the heat of
kindled flames,

Burn brighter than the
ember;

And in the hearth,

The fire gleans:

Uncertainty to cinder;

O Dinah, of wing-ed
heart,

Your words were swept
away,

And in the wake:

An army –

Torn asunder by the
blood,

That welled within a
broken heart,

Dinah – Dinah:

Reclaim now what was
stolen,

Not the guise of youth
– no,

But the words –

And lives –

And memories –

That were dashed like
hopeless

Dreams – the ones

You once did cling to:

For none deserve

The pain –

Dinah – we remember;

We remember you”

Ritual:

(I’m going to present two, one for both sides of the
spectrum)

Binding Hearts

To tie the hearts of two-together, first collect two onions.
Peel the skin and place them both on a red swatch of fabric – between the two,
burn a candle (one in bright red, lapis blue or a votive of the Virgin) to work
by. Once the candle is lit, read the above “prayer” to Dinah, adding to the
end:

“Dinah – of Lost Love –

Look into my feathered
heart,

And if my/our love is
True:

Stand as witness –

As I bind these hearts
together,”

Cut the two onions in half vertically, and unite the two
halves of one heart with the two halves of the other – fixing them with a blend
of honey and rose.

Wrap one onion in red fabric, tying a cord to form a “bag” –
this one you will leave at the side of a road along with the candle. As you do,
recite the last part of the prayer:

“Dinah – sweet of
honey, rose,

I bare my heart to
you.”

The other half, bury near your bedroom window. If the love
is true – he/she will show great interest very soon.

The Flames of
Retribution

Take with you into a dark room, a candle (red, black or a
votive of the Virgin) and a mirror. Prop the mirror against a sturdy backing
and light the candle; Look upon yourself in the mirror and read the above
prayer, finishing with:

“And on barren feet I walk,

‘Neath the shroud of persecution,

O, sweet Dinah of the Rose,

Bear your thorns –

For I have suffered;

I – a child of Sorrow –

Wept;

But no longer shall we

Weep for Sins –

That were not ours

To mourn –“

(Blow out the candle; and wait for the darkness to settle –
then relight the candle)

“And at last:

We are Reborn.”

Let the candle burn down or dash the flame, drizzle it with
honey and leave it at a crossroads.

Deborah: The Prophetess

Patroness of: Great Vision, Female Leadership, Strategy, Warfare, Prophecy, Cunning,
Faith, Prowess, and the Power to Overcome Great Odds. Call upon her for
works of Protection, Divination, Courage, Hope and Weather Manipulation (specifically
in regards to Lightning). She is a guide to all those who must fight to
survive.

Symbols: The Bee & the Flaming Spear/Dagger

For the Story of Deborah, see: The Song of Deborah, Judges 5

Prayer”:

It is she who rides

On mounts of golden glory,

Drawn – dagger in tooth

And eyes cast upward to Heaven;

Fear not – in your darkest hour,

For it is then that Dawn might come;

Bourn from her womb, but

Rolling tides of sanguine clouds

Aloft on the horizon,

Hear the heralding cries

Of Deborah – who rides onward;

Spitting in esoteric tongues;

Who knows only gleaming visions –

Of what is sure to come –

Fiery Queen of Victory –

O Deborah! O Deborah!

Free your merciless blade

To sting –

Singing like the Valkyrie;

O Deborah –

The Prophetess Queen: (x)

– Thy will be done.

Ritual

To Overcome Any Odds;

Light (5) Red or Golden Candles. With a knife blade pressed between your hands, recite the above prayer adding in the following at the (x):

Hear my pleas –

O Warrioress of Righteous Virtue –

Lead me forth to Victory,

Oracle of Spear and Dagger;

Might these odds yet,

Be overcome?

Light the way, Deborah –

Fire of the Divine,

Fight by my side –

Fight by my side –

Extinguish the candles and arrange them with three pointed upward and two pointing downward and tie them together in a bundle – bury (in the same, upright position) near your front door.

Be forewarned:

I will be beginning a series of “Unholy Saints” in the coming days – almost exclusively featuring strong women in the Bible. And I mean strong in many senses of the word, though I will most definitely be spending a particular amount of time of those who are demonized and how their strengths might be integrated into your practice.

Be ready! And I think you all will enjoy.

This is a hex that can be used for that exceedingly
intrusive colleague, “friend,” or even family member who cannot seem to
comprehend boundaries. As the name suggest, this hex prevents the victim from
overstepping their bounds by rendering your presence (or rather, their
perceptions) hidden. Of you they may not speak, your words they may not
overhear, and your actions and private matters they may not see. This a
multifaceted ritual, but can be completed in the matter of a night.

Begin by collecting the following herbs and curios:

  • Dried Garlic
    (powder or clove)
  • Chiles (Red, hot –
again, powdered or crushed will do)
  • (7) Coffee Beans,
    smashed
  • Black Salt (Kala
    Namak, not lava salt)
  • A few twigs from a Bird’s
    Nest
  • Spiderwebs
  • The ashes of Matthew 7:1 – 5 (or all of 6 and 7,
    whichever) –

Do not judge so that
you will not be judged. 2 For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and
[a]by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. 3 Why do you look
at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in
your own eye? 4 Or how [b]can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck
out of your eye,’ and behold, the log is in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite,
first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take
the speck out of your brother’s eye.”

  • (Optional) Water
    Hemlock
    , crushed
  • (Optional) Barberry
    Leaves
    , crushed
  • (Optional) Sulfur
    Powder

You will also need:

  • (1) Black Candle (the narrower the better – I’d recommend
either a chime or a federal, something narrow and straight – i.e. not a taper)
  • A Scrap of Fabric (any color will do – I use white, usually)
  • A Needle and Black Thread
  • Either a personal affect or their name written on paper or
    fabric
  1. To begin, collect your herbs in a vessel or – my personal
favorite – an unused coffee filter.
  2. Turn your black candle over, and carve the bottom into a
point, collecting the wax shavings and adding them to the above herb mixture.
You may also choose to flatten the top, as you’re basically creating a new “top”
    from the bottom. Rub this liberally with an oil of your choosing (if you wish;
    otherwise leave it naked).
  3. After this has been completed, you will be making a doll in the
shape of a head. For this, sew a head shape or oval into the fabric, completing
it – I say this, because for this process, we will not be inverting the doll to
stuff it. Pull the front and back apart, and in the front, cut a slit for a mouth
and eye. *see bottom for details*
  4. Through the eyes and mouth, stuff with either regularly
stuffing, Spanish moss or fabric scraps. Do not forget to add in the personal
affect or name (through the mouth would surely be easiest). Add in just a pinch
    of your herb mixture.
  5. Again, prime your needle and thread and begin stitching the
mouth closed. Finish. Then stitch closed the eyes (as a useful hint, begin on
the outside of one eye, stitch across and instead of having to finish and re-knot,
simply dive under the bridge and come out at the inside corner of the other eye
    – stitch across and close.)
  6. This completes the doll.
  7. If possible, light your candle in front of the doll and
sprinkle your herb mixture on your victims property or where they will walk
through it (near their car driver-side door is prime territory!) – as the
candle burns. However, given that could be hazardous, you may let the candle
burn first, then sprinkle your concoction (as long as a day after).

The slits in the doll should look (roughly) like this:

—–     —–

   ——-

Make sure only to cut through the top most layer!

Happy Hexing.

Is it possible to adapt this in a jar form, if you are not in dusting range of the target?

In lieu of dusting, I’d simply suggest you wrap the herb mixture in a photo or the name and place the entire thing in the doll. It should work just as well!

For anyone interested, I’ve created a tutorial on using the above script (which I’m calling Qedavian {out of convenience}) and have made the font available. Both links can be found below.

This is a script that can be used numerous different ways, as I created it some time ago to use for sigils and ritual writings – but it could also be used to cloak any writings that you prefer to keep hidden. As such, it’s perfectly fitting for use on enchanted objects that are to be gifted to someone and wishing to keep what’s etched on it indecipherable. (Plus, I mean, who doesn’t feel a little evil inside when writing in a language no eyes know!? Mwaha!)

Fell free to use however you so wish.

Symbol of the Labyrinth; used in rites of exploration – the subconscious, the astral plane, the Underworld or the High Consciousness ; conversely for malignant spells to foster confusion, dismay and illusion.

What is sought in the labyrinth may be found;

But the journey is not simple – trust not the

Illusory phantoms of the psyche – but see through:

Into the heart of the construct, wherein the most fearful,

Monstrous beast resides – Truth.

I’ve just constructed two torches of birch and cotton as a form of… I suppose the most apt phrasing would be a “mutual respect” to the unnamed deity I hope to work with tonight. She and I have a rather cloudy past – one I will neither deny or concentrate on. That which I seek cannot be sought by any other means – so, here is to mending burned bridges. Theoretically.

I will go to the graveyard and walk amongst her people, twin torches blazing and keys in hand – and a coin under my tongue.

2 hours to prepare.

Black Dog Cross

soul-less-little-shit:

qedavathegrey:

Black dogs have long since been symbols of misfortune, omens
of death and undeniably connoted with the Underworld – Anubis, Hecate, Cerberus
– all patrons the Crossroads: the bridge into the Unknown. This cross is
formulated to bring down a steady stream of misfortune, one that grows with
each passing day until this great weight plummets your victim into madness,
paranoia and paralyzing fear. You are, after all, releasing the Hounds of Hell –
it wasn’t going to be a pretty process. Be warned, reigning them in is much
harder to do than letting them hunt.

The process is relatively simple, but one that takes a particular breed (no pun intended) of concentration – you’re going to want to summon up the most violent, angry and feral parts of yourself to make this one come perfectly to fruition.

(A hound’s-tooth necklace also helps)

Things You Will Need:

  • Black Dog Hair – from a solid black dog, not from one with any white – it’s IMPERATIVE.
Black and white dogs have an entirely separate symbolism.
  • Sulfur
  • Raw Meat
  • Black Salt
  • Black Fabric
  • (2) Iron Nails
  • A strong, red wine – such as Merlot
  • Black string (any sort will do)
  • A person affect of he/she you wish to cross – foot-tracks
would be best, but most anything will do

Instructions:

  1. Begin by soaking your black square of fabric (8in x 8in
should suffice) in the red wine. It only need be wet, remove and allow to dry
in the sun (or in the oven if you’re in a hurry).
  2. Take a cut of meat (it needn’t be large – about an inch
square) and “season” it with a generous portion of salt and sulfur.
Take your first nail (dressed with a crossing oil of your choosing, if you
wish) and secure the personal affect to it, driving the nail through the meat.
  3. Wrap the black dog hair around the second (if the hair is
long enough, if not, just dampen the nail with water/oil and affix the hair as
best you can). Drive this perpendicularly to the other nail through the cut of
meat – speaking or visualizing that which you seek to accomplish.
  4. If the nails are small enough, lay the trick on the fabric,
gather the corners and cinch with the black string – creating a bag. If they
are too long, simply lay the trick on the fabric and gather the corners between
the nails, and tie at its center – leaving you with jutting nails and quite the
    statement.
  5. Leave the trick at the foot of the central cross in the cemetery
    – having paid your way in, or at a very dark, deserted crossroads.

The cross is done.

As is customary, when your wishes are fulfilled, leave for
them a gift in the same location – again, meat is always welcomed.
